World Book Day

We were delighted to welcome Gerard Whelan to our school today to speak to 2nd-6th Classes.  The children thoroughly enjoyed asking Gerard many questions about his life as an author.  The Senior Classes enjoyed reading Guns of Easter and Winter of Spies recently and were delighted to meet the author.  Thanks to Parents Council for organising this.

‘Leave No Trace’

Eoin McMahon from ‘Leave no trace’ visited the 3rd and 4th class on Wednesday 8th February to speak to them about how to look after the environment when out and about.  Eoin showed us environmentally friendly ways to hike, camp and visit the beach.  The classes went on a quick litter hunt in the yard to show litter can be found anywhere!  We played some team-building games and really enjoyed the visit.
