The school will close at 12.15p.m. tomorrow Friday 22nd of December.
Children who are normally collected from the car park can be collected from the school field due to a funeral.
Children can wear Christmas jumpers and Santa hats tomorrow for a Santa Run organised by the Active Schools.
We would like to wish the children, parents a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
3rd to 6th class will perform Annie next week in the local community hall. Come along and watch these amazing children perfom.
They have been working extremely hard over the last number of weeks practicing their acting and singing skills.
It promises to be a great night.
We held a very successful Sports Day last week. All classes were involved in many activities throughout the day. The 6th class challenged the staff to a game of rounders and emerged victorious. A highlight of the day was the arrival of Wexford hurlers David Redmond and Shaun Murphy. The children enjoyed a game of hurling and had the opportunity to get hurls and jerseys signed.

This was held in Enniscorthy this year. Well done to the thirty nine pupils who represented our school in running, long jump, high jump and relay races.

All at Danescastle N.S. were delighted to have a visit from Uachtarán Cumann Lúthchleas Gael, Aogán Ó Fearaíl today. The President spoke to the children and answered their questions. Mark Fanning, Wexford hurler, also spoke to the children and encouraged them to continue playing Gaelic Games. Finally Rackard League Chairman, Dan O’Flaherty spoke to the children about the importance of participating in Gaelic games. Continue reading
Mairéad Ní Thiománaigh from Gael Linn recently visited the school to hear about the work we have been doing in order to receive another Gaelbhratach. We will receive this at a ceremony in Leopardstown on 29th May.
